How to Use Support at Home Documentation Templates

On 21 August 2026, the Australian Government announced that Commonwealth Home Support Program grant funding will be extended for another 2 years to 30 June 2029. A 24 August fact sheet and Minister Rae's CHSP conference speech say the Department will write to every CHSP provider about the extension process and timing, with consultation on long-term arrangements expected to begin in the coming weeks. Older people will continue to access CHSP entry-level supports while that work proceeds.

Support at Home replaced the Home Care Packages Program and Short-Term Restorative Care Programme on 1 November 2025.
