2025–26 APCS guidance: check both legal periods before the ACFR handoff
The Department published 2025–26 Annual Prudential Compliance Statement (APCS) Guidelines on 24 September. The reporting year spans two legal settings: 1 July–31 October 2025 under the earlier Aged Care Act framework, and 1 November 2025–30 June 2026 under the Aged Care Act 2024 framework. Financial-year ACFR reporting is due 31 October 2026; check whether and how APCS applies to the provider before its authorised submission. Do not infer a new deadline or resolve unclear fee-agreement dates from this short notice.
Document and workflow checks
Turn the official change into reviewable actions
- Confirm the provider's 2025–26 APCS scope, reporting cycle, authorised form and submission owner against current Department instructions.
- Separate evidence and reviewer sign-off for the pre- and post-1 November 2025 legal periods; preserve source, version and question-level decisions in authorised systems.
- Escalate any ambiguous guidance, including fee-agreement dates, to the Department or the provider's professional adviser before making a declaration.

Team review question
Who owns the two-period APCS evidence review and ACFR approval handoff?
Usage boundary
This is a preparation prompt, not an APCS determination, legal interpretation or submission. Do not treat the publication date as a new due date, assume every provider has identical APCS obligations, or use CaresLink to store prudential evidence.
